In addition to the 3D street paintings in Tiel, there’s also room to discover new talent. That’s why on Saturday, September 6, we’re hosting the Street Painting DO IT YOURSELF CONTEST in Tiel.
Everyone is welcome to create a pastel chalk drawing inspired by 6,000 years of Tiel. The contest is open to all ages and takes place in two locations – the Groenmarkt and Zinder.
Together, we’ll color Tiel!

📍 Groenmarkt & Zinder, Tiel
For this contest, children aged 4 to 12 can work together with their parents, grandparents, friends, or neighbors to create a beautiful chalk artwork. Professional artists will be present to share tips and tricks, helping to bring all your imaginative ideas to life on the pavement.
At the end, all the individual drawings will come together to form one large, colorful artwork.
Each participant will receive a 1 m² space to create their chalk art, along with a participation form. Pastel chalk will be handed out at the information point by the Flipje statue and at Zinder.
We start Group 1 from 12:00–14:00 and Group 2 from 14:00–16:00. You don’t have to draw for the full two hours – we simply split it into two groups for the best experience.
🏆 Of course, there are great prizes to be won! The big award ceremony takes place at 16:00 on the Groenmarkt.
