6,000 years of history – on the streets
During World Street Painting, international artists will transform the city into a temporary open-air museum. At 10 locations throughout downtown Tiel, they’ll create stunning 3D street paintings live on-site—each one inspired by the city’s rich and ancient history. Think Roman excavations, medieval walls, or the world-famous 4,000-year-old solar calendar, brought to life as if the past were just beneath your feet.
And the best part? You can step right into it.
More than just watching – you’re part of it
This festival isn’t just about looking at art. Street painting is live performance art. You’ll see artists in action, talk with them, and get invited to become part of the artwork. Find the perfect viewing angle, strike a pose, and snap a photo that makes it look like you’re floating, falling, or stepping into another time.
Artists from around the world
As in past editions, artists from across the globe are taking part—representing countries like the Netherlands, Mexico, Italy, Japan, and more. There’s also plenty of space for young talent, students, and local creators, all working within a unique master-apprentice model focused on sharing skills and collaborating. Together, they bring the city to life.
